Articulus ibidem occasio
No, its not some spell from Harry Potter, although it is latin. The sharper people amongst you might realise that it is my screename on MSN Messenger at the moment. Those of you that have noticed this will know what the English translation is. The rest of you people who have lives outside this grey-and-black prison will not.
It means "Live for the moment" (or so i'm told.) and i think this is a great phrase, especially when coupled with my current favourite phrase "Do what makes you happy".
Do you guys want me to explain the sayings?
Tough, it's my blog and i'll type what i want to! If you want something interesting to do, go plant a tree or something.....
"Do what makes you happy" - Pretty self explanatory huh? It all came about over the summer, i was just thinking about stuff and it seemed like, working on the camp, i was a million times happyer than i was back home. Now i love my family and friends, and life without them was harsh.... but i dont miss the dead end job and the lack of anything fun or new to do. Like i had said before, we were going to the same bars, seeing the same people drinking the same drinks and even wearing the same clothes. It seemed to me that if being on the camp and working there made me happy, but being at home in the monotomy of chelmsford life made me..... grey (that was how i described how i was feeling for like a year, about 8 months ago), then there was an obvious choice right? Be happy and have fun!
"Live for the moment" - This is a good one, its kinda like Carpe diem but insted of siezing the day, you live each moment of that day as if it could be your last. For example, i was setting off home tonight, and i noticed the calm. It was about 12:15 and there was not a sound to be heard. I started skating and it was just me and my board, carving a path home down the middle of the tarmaced road. It was smooth, quiet and peaceful. The wind in my face, the slight vibrations of the board running over small cracks.
Now i appreaciated that moment fully. 'cause it dosent happen very often... A perfect moment. It was just the right temperature, no one bothered me, no cars no people, just me and my board, working together, riding the concrete wave home.
I have to admit, i consider myself to be quite a spiritual person. Now i'm not about to go shave my head and start practising thai-chi, but i do enjoy nature, peace and tranquility. I enjoy a nice sunset, climbing to the peaks of hills. The little physical challanges that present themselves. It's nice, and i think thats why i like to live by those two sayings.
(Of course, living for the moment dosent always work, i mean you need to have some savings and have some morals and such, but i find it a good general saying)
Try them out sometimes, see if they work for you too...
Todays quote is from a conversation i had with Sarah, Over msn;
"Stevie - Dat veniam corvis, vextat censura columbas. ...This Is Not a Love Song... says:
i hav a problem
Jamie - Articulus ibidem occasio - Live for the moment says:
whats that?
Stevie - Dat veniam corvis, vextat censura columbas. ...This Is Not a Love Song... says:

Keep it safe,
Jamie
