Happiness.
Happiness is different things to different people. For one person it might be as simple as turning up to work on time. Some people like being with their friends. To some people, being happy is being Blindfolded, tied up and tickled by a guy named "Big John".But lets not go there.
For me, there are a few different kinds of happiness. Theres the simple happiness you get from skating home from work late at night, The "I am everyones best friend" happiness that comes from one too many shots and then there's that "Everything is perfect.....I dont want this moment to end" Happiness.
I have had a couple of those moments. Times when if the world ended right there, you wouldn't care, 'cause everything seems right.
I'm talking about this 'cause recently i have been a bit nostalgic. I've been looking back as far as America, 6th form, High school and even Junior school. And i've realised something. No matter how perfect things were for me, I've always been looking back.
Now, i'm looking back at America and thinking, damn i wasted some time....
At the start of my trip to America, i was looking back at 6th form, and thinking how good i once had it.
When i was in 6th form, i looked at the days when ALL my friends came to the same school... and thinking how we should have hung out more.
When i was in High school, i looked back on Junior school, and thought how much easier life seemed then.
What i've learned from this, (and i learned it during the summer, as i have mentioned) Is that to really be happy, just enjoy each and every moment. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY. Then when you look back it'll be great still, but then you can turn around (metaphorically) and look forewards. And see that whats coming will be just as good. Or even better.
I'm going from working nights to working in America. I dont think i'll be looking at this period of my life right now and be saying "Damn, i wish i was back there...".
Keep it safe.
